💬 About the Event

In a time of rising anti-Trans legislation and the dismantling of DEI protections, our Trans and Gender-expansive community is being targeted nationwide. This Town Hall is our response—a space for knowledge, safety, empowerment, and connection.

Join us for an afternoon rooted in care and action, featuring expert voices, community resources, and performances that remind us of our collective strength and joy.

Hosted by the LA Queer Events Coalition, this gathering reflects the power of local queer leaders, creatives, and advocates coming together for our people. Taking place during AANHPI Heritage Month, we are proud to highlight voices like NiK Kacy and En B, who embody the brilliance and resilience of the Asian American TGI community.

This is more than a panel. It’s a movement. And we need you in the room.

About The Venue:

Transgender and Non-Binary individuals comprise two of the most marginalized groups in our society. The Center provides much-needed services in one convenient, safe, and welcoming place.

Named after Connie Norman, known as the ‘AIDS Diva,’ a fearless Transgender and AIDS activist who died in 1996, this center acts as a home to raise up and empower the next generation of activists and members of our community. We are home to several Trans-led organizations including FLUX powered by AHF, TransCanWork, the Unique Woman’s Coalition (UWC), Mirror Memoirs, ProjectQ, Unique Point of Refuge, and The Trans Chorus of Los Angeles.

The Connie Norman Empowerment Center opened in the historic Linn House in 2021 and is a creation from AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) whose mission is to provide cutting-edge medicine and advocacy regardless of ability to pay. The center supports the advancement of AHF’s mission by providing high-quality HIV care and functioning as a sort of ‘WeWork’ space for Trans-led organizations to have a place to do their work, advocate for the community, and be affirmed. AHF will open an outpatient clinic here at the Connie Norman Empowerment Center, focusing on the medical needs of transgender individuals which will help provide HIV medical care and advocacy to those in need.
