Imagine yourself as an alchemist creating stained glass with only compostable and renewable raw materials. What are the ingredients, colors, and textures of this “bioglass”? What can you discover about our physical and material environment with such a recipe?
Delve into the world of bioplastics by making a colorful bioglass suncatcher. This workshop will introduce participants to the history and practice of bioplastics, along with case studies at the intersection of art, science, and design. Along the way, the instructor will share techniques and resources for working with kitchen-friendly recipes of bioplastics. Join us for a rich materials experience and come away with your own unique piece of bioglass art!
No prior experience necessary. Please note that this recipe takes approximately 5 days to dry; we will coordinate pick-up of your samples 1 week after the workshop. Please wear a mask as a practice of community care.
