Hey Horn Band Hipsters,
The band will be playing again at the Gaslamp in Long Beach which is a great venue for the band. The Sunday vibe at the Gaslamp includes brunch, beverages and live music which starts at noon. Doors open at 11:00.
For the first time, we will be featuring both Brian Yamamoto and Juanita Sorensen in the same show. Brian will be singing the Chicago, Tower of Power and other 70's horn band tunes in his fabulous style. Juanita will be killing it on her signature tunes by Aretha, Etta, Dusty and Amy as well as a few new tunes you won't want to miss. Throw in the mix Wilson alumni Gary Piper (Blood Sweat and Tears and Tom Jones!) and who could want anything more!
More you say! Since this will be the weekend of the Wilson High School 50 year reunion (which percussionist Tim MIchaelson and I are members), we have some special guests sitting in with the band. Heather (Sargeant) Drakulich will sing "Dancing in the Street" in her bluesy style. We will also have Richard Ferrin (Sax) and Laurie (Todd) West (Fiddle), playing with the band. Fun, fun, fun! (Well, till Daddy takes the T-Bird away!)
So, grab your dancing shoes and head down to the Gaslamp at noon on Sunday, August 3rd. There will be a great vibe and lots of fun and no cover charge!! Below is a flyer with more details.
Reservations are not necessary but recommended.
We hope to see you there!
