This will be a VERY BASIC First Aid overview. We will talk about how to address bleeding, burns, sprains and fractures, head injuries, heart attacks and strokes, diabetic emergencies,, how to do a quick assessment, how to know when to call the ambulance, how to call the ambulance and what to tell the dispatcher. We will also go over what should be in your basic first at home supplies, what you should have in your car, especially in winter and in non winter but stormy weather.
There is no charge for the class, but if you want a copy of the AHA Heartsaver First Aid Book which has a wider range of topics in easy to follow format, you can buy it for $10 at the class.
Marge Fish was an active member of the Rescue Squad for 47 years and is a lifetime member who still teaches and serves on committees. She has been a RN for 41years and spent 27 years working in an ICU and 10 years working in an emergency room. She now works at Bromley as a First Aid Room Attendant and as a nurse at the Capital City Rescue Mission Free Clinic in Albany NY.
