The story

Set in 1940s Mississippi, Marie & Rosetta follows gospel guitarist Sister Rosetta Tharpe as she discovers the young singer Marie Knight and invites her to join her Southern tour. As they clash over faith, fame, and music, the two women find a shared rhythm that transforms gospel into something bolder. But success in a divided world comes with choices that echo far beyond the stage.
