A walk through the existing Estate and Playing Fields started by Harold Wesley to the lost community of Lower Place by the Grand Union Canal
This is the second of three free walks in the OPDC area this year sponsored by the OPDC (Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation).
Details to be confirmed especially the precise start and end points.
We will meet in Minerva Road, then walk to the Wesley Playing Fields to see the recent changes there and then through the Wesley Estate itself telling you the story of the benevolent employer, Harold Wesley, and what he provided for his employees. We then cross to the area of a community that is no longer and we will tell you some of their stories and of what was here. Finally a short walk along the Grand Union Canal with a finish not far from the Central Middlesex Hospital from where there are frequent bus services in all directions.
As is the usual option after our walks, we will find a cafe or restaurant near the finish point where we can chill and chat.
