About this Event

The Conscious Edit Panel Talk: From Sketch to Styling

Join us at Host of Leyton for an inspiring conversation that traces the journey of sustainable fashion, from initial concept to the final styled look.

The Conscious Edit: From Sketch to Styling brings together a panel of industry voices who are shaping a more thoughtful approach to design, production, and wear.

Hosted by Kate Grainger, founder of Little Black Look, this session explores what it really means to make conscious choices across every stage of fashion’s lifecycle, from the fabric roll to your wardrobe.

Our panel includes:
Penelope Tucker (Moma Hilo) – founder of a responsible womenswear brand championing conscious design and local manufacture.
Liv Khan (The Materialist) – co-founder of the innovative deadstock fabric supplier redefining how designers source responsibly.
Diana Kakkar (MAES London) – founder of a female-led manufacturing studio dedicated to ethical production and craftsmanship.
Vic Binns – personal stylist and advocate for mindful dressing, helping clients build wardrobes that align with their values.

Together, we’ll explore:
– How sustainability influences the creative process from the very first sketch
– The power of materials and responsible sourcing
– How production choices shape the future of fashion
– How we, as wearers, can make conscious styling choices that last

Whether you’re a designer, maker, stylist, or simply someone who loves clothes and cares about where they come from, this panel offers insight, inspiration, and honest discussion about what it means to create and consume with purpose.

About The Conscious Edit

This autumn, The Conscious Edit launches Unveiled, a four-day curated pop-up department store celebrating craft, sustainability, and considered design.

Bringing together an inspiring collective of UK-based womenswear, homeware and lifestyle brands, Unveiled is a space for conscious shoppers to explore meaningful pieces and connect with the people and stories behind them. Each brand has been thoughtfully chosen for its commitment to sustainability, craftsmanship, and a refined, minimal aesthetic.

The Conscious Edit was created as an affordable platform for sustainably led UK brands to come together under one roof. More than just a shopping event, Unveiled is a calm, design-led space for discovery, conversation, and connection, a space the founders, Penelope (Moma Hilo) and Kate (Little Black Look) wished already existed.
