Stolen Generations - a Systematic Violation of Ukraine’s Future.

As part of our 'Children Pray for Children' campaign, the Association of Ukrainian Women in Great Britain welcomes Megan Gittoes to speak on her recently published research about the forcefully deported children of Ukraine.
This is a hugely significant piece of research, based on external sources and numerous interviews in Ukraine, including mothers whose children have been illegally deported to Russia.
It covers all the tactics that Russia is using to steal Ukraine's children and erase their identities: forced deportation, educational indoctrination, militarisation and much more. It gives horrifying statistics - almost 20,000 children forcibly deported, and 1.6 million in occupied territories, who are being prepared for conscription into the Russian army. International humanitarian law is failing these children. Although many organisations are working to repatriate children, this is a slow and not always successful process. It underlines the importance of our campaign - to maximise awareness of these war crimes and urge greater government and international action to bring every child home.

Це надзвичайно важливе дослідження, яке базується на зовнішніх джерелах та численних інтервʼю в Україні, зокрема з матерями, чиї діти були незаконно депортовані до Росії. Він охоплює всі тактики, які Росія використовує для викрадення дітей України та стирання їхньої ідентичності: примусова депортація, освітня індоктринація, мілітаризація та багато іншого.
Вона наводить жахливу статистику - майже 20,000 примусово депортованих дітей та 1,6 мільйона на окупованих територіях, яких готують до призову до російської армії.
Міжнародне гуманітарне право не допомагає цих дітей. Хоча багато організацій працюють над репатріацією дітей, це повільний і не завжди успішний процес. Це підкреслює важливість нашої кампанії - якнайбільше поширювати обізнаність про ці воєнні злочини та закликати до більш активних дій уряду та міжнародної спільноти, щоб
повернути кожну дитину додому.
