PEARL HANDLED REVOLVER - five souls who, in the studio and on the stage have a wordless chemistry that provides escape, catharsis and the release of making music and creating... for the love of it. Not for genre labels, kudos or credibility, because ultimately all that matters in Pearl Handled Revolver happens in the moment.
Sometimes the result is Heavy Rock, sometimes Jazz rears its head and the spectre of Funk and RnB loom large; the exploratory spirit of Psyche and Prog always hangs heavy, allowing the band to fly just as the Blues roots them and marks the grain of their fingerprints. The only expectation with any weight is that, once together, time gives way to music.
In 16 years Pearl Handled Revolver have created 5 self-produced studio albums, 3 live albums, 4 EPs, a retrospective collection. Through countless shows and hours rehearsing and recording. Sharing ideas, chatting and laughing in the studio, two bassists (welcoming aboard Lucas Rinaldo on bass guitar and guitar), births, marriages, separation and deaths. On the road there have been service stations, coffee good and appalling, dressing rooms, hotels, hostels, sofas, floors and caravans. All memories and inspiration for what-ever comes next. And there will always be more.
Fast-moving London trio TEIGER have been described as enigmatic musical shapeshifters channelling psychedelic rock, textured folk, and soft, progressive metal to create collagist, atmospheric sounds that truly defy description. With an arresting blend of power and intimacy, the band has gathered an impressive number of accolades despite only launching in 2022 - plays from BBC6βs Stu Maconie and BBC Introducing, a sold out vinyl release via Rough Trade, nominations for HRH Best New Band, Radio Wigwamβs Best Indie Rock award, as well as strong support from the the press with features in Fireworks, Powerplay, PROG, Classic Rock and more. The band has quickly become known on the UK festival circuit with appearances at Cambridge Rock, Portals, Nene Valley, HRH, Soundle and Winterβs End. Teiger is led by the siren-like vocals and unorthodox guitar playing of Talie Rose Eigeland, whose unusual approach is often likened to that of Beth Gibbons, Jeff Buckley or Grace Slick. Against these are juxtaposed the sometimes intricate, sometimes thunderous patterns of drummer Jon Steele and the highly melodic, equally unorthodox bass playing of Phillip Eldridge-Smith. Where many rock bands would choose a distorted sound to create tension, Teigerβs playful ferocity relies instead on dynamic contrast, haunting major-minor tugs and carefully crafted parts from all three players to create a captivating and intensely symbiotic atmosphere.
TEIGERβs highly-anticipated second album is due for release in 2026; but you can expect to hear some tracks from it at the Camden Club tonight!
THE CAMDEN CLUB is one of London's newest and most exciting venues (opposite The Roundhouse in Camden/Chalk Farm).
