Join us for a sound and storytelling workshop, where you will experiment with combining sound, storytelling, percussion, and empowerment to form a transformative creative experience.
Led by Xie Rong (Echo Morgan), multidisciplinary artist and co-creator of upcoming theatre show *, and Beibei Wang, percussionist and composer, also working on Mountain and Seas, you will use the 5 elements of metal, wood, water, charcoal, and soil as your creative framework.
Xie Rong says:
"I first met Beibei through her Water concert.
I painted Ice on her face.
I watched her blow air into a plastic bag, suffocating with the pollution we create every day.
I saw her make rocks sing and ink cry.
In her drumming I discovered strength and encouragement for my own search for compassion and justice. She shows me how elements and nature can speak — paper that sings like a bird, branches that drum like sticks, breath that flows through a tube like birth itself.
From the Mountains to the Seas, I am so excited to create the Song of Today with Beibei! I hope people can join us and witness our wonders through metal, wood, water, charcoal, and soil — referencing Beibei’s outstanding Wuxing (Five Elements) concerts and the creative relationship we share, always guided by Nature."
This workshop is suitable for all levels.
We look forward to experimenting with you!
*'' will be on at Omnibus Theatre from Tues 2nd to Sat 6th December 2025. More info and tickets .

She creates immersive, site-specific experiences, blending theatre with action art, and views art as a healing force within society. She also lectures in the UK and China.
Beibei Wang Bio:
Beibei Wang is an internationally acclaimed percussionist and composer celebrated for her “high-energy virtuosity” (Wall Street Journal). Trained in both Western classical and traditional Chinese percussion, she bridges cultures with artistry that is at once powerful and refined. As a composer, she brings down-to-earth Chinese culture into contemporary classical settings, with works including JiuGe and WuXing 五行, multimedia music theatre pieces both premiered at LSO St Luke’s and later at Shanghai's Great China Theatre. Alongside collaborations with Tan Dun and leading orchestras worldwide, Beibei continues to expand the boundaries of percussion through performance, composition, and cross-disciplinary projects.
