db Captures Presents: Monogatari

Welcome to an art gallery visual experience where stories are told through the wonder of pictures. This decade-spanning collection by Daniel Oluwatobi aka db captures, contains images from the likes of Burna Boy and Jazmine Sullivan to commissions for Netflix and Paramount Pictures as well editorials that celebrate Black beauty and culture.

The art gallery experience culminates in the premiere of db captures’ first short-form documentary. The movie, filmed entirely in Kenya is a piece that explores the relationship between music, tourism, and the visual arts. All through the eyes of a partially sighted film maker and photographer.

What to expect

• A curated physical and digital gallery of photographs from the last 10 years
• Editorial series that celebrate Black beauty
• Visual storytelling featuring narrative that unfolds image by image
• Premiere screening of the Kenya short documentary with a Q&A hosted by Chris Topper (very limited tickets)
• Panel discussion with International DJ DONCH and grammy-nominated producer Juls, hosted by Icie (The Sitdown)
• Music on the night provided by DJ Big J, DONCH and Juls
