Welcome to our 2nd Lower Limb Functional Anatomy CPD Course! Join us on Sunday 1st June 2025 for an exciting day of learning and exploring the intricacies of the lower limb. This in-person event will be held in a very spacious dissection lab the Hodgkin Building, Guy's Campus, Kings College, where you'll have the opportunity to dive deep into the world of anatomy and function of the foot and ankle. This follows the success of our first course held in 2024 where we received very positive feedback on the attendee's learning outcomes
Whether you're an experienced practitioner looking to expand your knowledge or simply need a refresher in your anatomy, this course is perfect for you.
The course will be faciliated by Steve Kriss and Helen Milnes, Consultant Podiatric Surgeons, both vastly experienced and with excellent reputations.
The course will initially start with an general overview of the lower limb from hip to ankle led by our anatomy demonstrators Kirsty and Mark with a helping hand from Steve and Helen. Attendees will be directed to locate certain important anatomical structures. A discussion will be initiated on the function of these structures.
Following a short break the participants will be split into 2 groups for the remainder of the day to cover the respective areas of the ankle and hindfoot and midfoot and rearfoot. Steve and Helen will demonstrate specific anatomical structures and their relation to function and pathology. e.g. plantar fasciitis, midfoot OA. Management options will also be discussed and the participants will be encouraged to discuss these as much as possible. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore pre-dissected specimens to view specific anatomical landmarks. There will also be an opportunity to discuss case histories so please feel free to bring along some interesting cases....
