Introduction to Ikebana - Create a Japanese Floral Design

In this hands-on and cultural workshop, you'll learn about the revered and elegant art form of Japanese floral design.

• Ignite your creativity in an exquisite garden setting; a living canvas of lush foliage, plants and trees thoughtfully designed to offer a calming retreat.
• A relaxed and friendly workshop where you will be provided with a variety of fresh flowers, branches and selected foraged elements along with a Japanese-style container, Kenzan (metal flower pin base for flower placement) all for you to create your unique arrangement.
• Your certified tutor of the Sogestu School of Ikebana Japan will guide you through the process step by step, offering treasured insights and valuable practical tips as you explore different textures, shapes and colours.
• The session embodies the meditative aspects of Ikebana – helping you to slow down, connect with nature, and express your innate artistry through natural materials.

We welcome participants of all skill levels, requiring no previous flower arranging experience. The Japanese approach to floral design focuses on form, space and balance. It is accessible for complete beginners yet fascinating for those with creative experience.By the end of the workshop, you'll have created your own one-of-a-kind Ikebana arrangement – a stunning reflection of your newfound skills and creativity.Please note: Public dates for this class require at least 2 guests to run.
