This intimate dance style is a must for those wishing to fully understand what it is to have connection within their dance. Join Barry and guest teacher, the amazingly talented, Amy Collins as they take you into the world of Micro-Blues.

What is Micro-Blues?
Micro Blues is a niche style within the broader blues dance genre, characterized by subtle, close-connection movements that focus on shared weight, body awareness, and nuanced communication between partners. It is typically danced in very small spaces (hence "micro") and often to slower, quieter, or more intimate music.

Key Features of Micro Blues:
Minimal Movement: Instead of big steps or dramatic figures, dancers use small shifts of weight, body isolations, and micro-movements.

Close Connection: Dancers often maintain a close embrace or body contact, emphasizing a strong physical connection and sensitivity.

Musicality: The style allows dancers to interpret music in very personal and expressive ways, often picking up on subtle accents or rhythms in the music.

Improvisation: As with most blues styles, micro blues is highly improvisational, with lead and follow roles being fluid and responsive.

This dance style is a CLOSED HOLD dance style meaning that you will be in a hug like position with your partner for the duration of the dance.

If you are uncomfortable with close proximity to your partner, this workshop may not be for you.

Please also, be aware that because you are in very close proximity to your partner(s) for this workshop, please have your personal hygiene taken care of and bring with you the following:

> A small hand towel to dry off
> A change of top (especially if you know you sweat a lot)
> Deoderant
> Breath mints / chewing gum
