Join Populo Living, Newham's wholly owned housing company, for an insightful discussion exploring the vital role of community and Meanwhile Projects in shaping regeneration, led by award winning architect Jan Kattein.
This session draws together a range of stakeholder voices involved in re-imagining the Carpenters Estate, including how the community shaped the Meanwhile Projects to create a lasting legacy.
A tour of the projects finishes at the Carpenters Dialogue Express Café - a repurposed train carriage - with time for refreshments and networking. This new cafe, managed by Dialogue Hub, will be training those with hearing impairments to be baristas. The talks and tour will review how thoughtful, participatory design can shape the future of our neighbourhoods, ensuring that regeneration reflects the needs and hopes of existing, and future, residents.
Speakers:
