For Samuel Beckett [organ performance]

We invite you to join us over the last weekend in August, where Katia Farn will play “For Samuel Beckett”, the longest composition ever written for the organ to be played by a human being! Heath Street Baptist Church will be filled with sound for up to twenty-seven hours in a superhuman feat of endurance!

The score itself is a direct translation of Beckett’s “Waiting For Godot” where the letter A becomes the musical note A. Kat will have two registrants (Frey Lawler & Pablo Baxter) by her side the entire time, pulling stops to morph and mould the soundscape as the piece evolves.

The Heath Street organ is 124 years old and in need of repair so this performance will double as a drive to raise £20,000 to see it through the next hundred years!


PART ONE will begin on Saturday 30th August at 9am & finish between 6:30pm & 1am

PART TWO will begin on Sunday 31st August at 12:30 & finish between 8:30pm & midnight
