About the event

Exhibit P* - An Anti-Disciplinary Creative Workshop
For Queer women, trans and non-binary people

About this Event

Inviting artists and community members to co-create a public-facing artwork which will be exhibited in Firepit’s Glass Gallery in celebration of community, care, and collective resistance.

The day will include a grounding meditation, collaborative group agreement‑making, supported individual art‑making with 1:1 facilitation, and a shared vegan and gluten‑free meal. The day will run as two 3hour sessions with a 1hour lunch break inbetween.

Rooted in queer resistance, self‑authorship, and radical re‑imagining, this anti-disciplinary workshop invites participants to explore personal and collective narratives through mediums such as sustainable textile upcycling, abstract painting and collage. Designed with neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice at its core, this workshop offers a calm, consent‑based space to slow down, reflect, and create within a community setting.

Led by experienced trauma‑informed facilitators with a vast and eclectic combined practice in inclusive LGBTQIA+ arts spaces, Exhibit P* centres underrepresented voices and prioritises wellbeing, sustainability, and connection.

About the facilitators:

Amy-Rose Edlyn (they/them) is a queer, multidisciplinary artist and facilitator currently in residence at Firepit Art Gallery and Studios CIC and practising co-founding Artistic Director of Bold Mellon Collective CIC. Amy’s practice spans several visual art/design mediums, performance and community-led facilitation, centring LGBTQIA+ communities, wellbeing, accessibility and collective care through politically engaged, neurodivergent-informed work.

Tasnim Siddiqa Amin (she/they) is a queer, working-class Bangladeshi-British artist, theatremaker and community arts producer from Tower Hamlets. Her interdisciplinary, trauma-informed practice spans theatre, performance, visual art and community facilitation, centring anti-racism, postcolonial and intersectional feminist approaches, with a focus on care-based, accessible and collaborative creative processes.

Emilia Nurmukhamet (she/they) is a Tatar performance maker, creative facilitator, and founding co-artistic director of the award-nominated Bold Mellon Collective. Their multidisciplinary, collaborative practice is grounded in play, mess and deep listening. Emilia has led workshops in movement, improvisation and self-producing practice across arts and education settings since 2019.
