Arts and Wellbeing conversations

Join our resident artist, Pragya Kumar, for a relaxed and inspiring evening at Firepit as we explore the connection between arts and wellbeing.

Pragya believes that art is a powerful tool for communication, one that helps us connect more deeply with ourselves and with those around us. She approaches art-making as a meditative and reflective process, free from judgment or the need for perfection.

This free-flowing workshop invites you to slow down, tune in, and create in your own way. The session will include:

· A gentle grounding exercise to centre the mind

· Hands-on exploration of visual art techniques using a variety of materials

· A closing reflection to share insights and experiences

This month, as the seasons shift and the air grows colder, I’ve been thinking a lot about change. How it affects us in different ways. This month, I’d love to open up a conversation around it. Together, we’ll gently explore how change, both the positive and not-so-positive, touches our mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing.

As we move towards the festive season, let’s take a moment to slow down and reflect. How do we approach this time of year? How does it make us feel? And how can creativity and nature help us find calm, connection, and balance?

We’ll be working with natural materials, willow, raffia, clay, paper, natural pigments, leaves, yarn, recycled paper, tissue, and whatever else I come across. Using these earthy textures as our base, we’ll add colour to our creations, bright hues that symbolise love, hope, and joy to remind ourselves of the warmth and light that still surrounds us, even in the colder months.

There will, of course, be plenty of other materials to choose from too!

Whatever you choose to make, I warmly invite you to enjoy an hour and a half of gentle, relaxing you-time in a friendly, welcoming space.

All materials will be provided, but please feel free to bring along any special papers, colouring tools, or personal items you’d like to work with.

Come as you are. Curious, tired, hopeful, or simply in need of a pause and let’s create, share, and breathe together.

The workshop is free, and as spaces are limited, we kindly ask that you only book a spot if you’re certain you can attend. This helps us ensure that the Arts Wellbeing Workshop reaches those who truly need it.

We welcome any donation towards materials which will enable us to sustain the workshops.

The workshop is open for anyone 18years and above

No prior experience in arts needed. People from all artistic backgrounds are welcome.

Please arrive 10 mins before the session for a prompt start at 6pm.
