Bach Concerti for two harpsichords

In the final concert of our ninth season, we offer the rare opportunity to see and hear two magnificent harpsichords on stage at the same time.

The programme features Bach’s concertos for two harpsichords and orchestra performed in the lovely setting of First-St. Andrew’s United Church. An orchestra led by Joseph Lanza, concertmaster of London Symphonia and director of the Early Music Studio at Western, will accompany soloists Ron Greidanus and Matthew Pope.

Interspersed amongst these instrumental works, Kammerchor’s founder, soprano Ariel Harwood-Jones, and the orchestra will remind the audience of the ensemble’s vocal roots with arias from Bach’s contemporaries, Handel and Vivaldi, and culminating in Purcell’s poignant Dido’s lament and final chorus to end the evening.
