The BLSO is the home of blue light music and the place where blue light musicians belong. Join us for a relaxed and supportive day of music-making as we explore Beethoven’s beautiful Symphony No. 6 “Pastoral”. This workshop is specially designed for blue light workers – including police, fire, ambulance, NHS staff, and military musicians – as a chance to unwind, connect, and create something uplifting together.
🎻 String players – we need you!
We have spaces available for violin, viola, cello, and double bass. Whether you're part of the emergency services or simply passionate about music and want to show your support, you're warmly invited to join us.
💙 All you need is your instrument, a love of music, and a desire to support those who serve our communities.
💷 We ask for a voluntary donation of £15 to help cover workshop costs.

Great atmosphere, lovely talented people. Challenging music played really well, an enjoyable experience. Very well looked after with pastries, biscuits, tea & coffee and plenty of breaks.

A wonderful Sunday workshop with the BLSO, learning and playing Rachmaninov's Symphonic Dances - a new work for me, and both challenging and exhilarating as we explored it together. The BLSO is such an amazing idea - to play with fellow emergency service colleagues in an environment where our focus is entirely on music is a fabulous way to spend a Sunday!
