Join the Museum of Enclosure and ANTINUNIVERSITY for a night of sharing and learning about the politics of dispossession in England. Together we will watch Trespass!, a film by Ro Rawat, partake in a memory workshop, and invite attendees to bring their own stories or work to share.
This event is free and is a potluck, please bring a dish to share with everyone! (vegan and GF preferred so we can accommodate as many people as possible)
Ro Rawat is an environmental storyteller and filmmaker interested in exploring people’s connection to land and sense of belonging in nature in time where these things are made to feel very separate. Their practice is rooted in anti-colonial, socio-environmental justice, and the collecting and sharing of personal experiences and traditional knowledges.
About the film Trespass!:
Whether it’s the land that we live on, the land that raised us, the land we landed on, or the home we are seeking – we have a right to be able to cultivate a connection to it. They may own it but we belong to it.
Trespass! is a personal film and a call to action. It explores connection to nature, land justice, and features the voices of Right to Roam protestors celebrating a win for wild camping on Dartmoor. Trespass! asks the question: "How do you connect to a land your ancestors are not from?", exploring what it means to push past — and resist — the boundaries laid out for you.
