Mandala art, rooted in Buddhist and Hindu traditions,originated in South Asia during the 1st century BCE. These intricate geometric designs, used as symbolic representations of the universe and as meditation aids, spread along the Silk Road into Tibet, China, and Japan. Over time, mandalas found their way into other Eastern religions and spiritual practices, eventually gaining popularity in modern-day art and wellness circles.
