▪ This is a story about why fashion and clothing are essential parts of Holocaust history — and why they were overlooked for so long.
▪ What happened that allowed this topic to resurface? What can it reveal? From the exhibition emerges a portrait of the ghetto that, until now, remained buried in archives and academic texts — finally bringing to light an important chapter in the history of Łódź. Paweł Michna, co-curator of the exhibition alongside Karolina Sulej, will demonstrate how much can be uncovered through these traces and explain how it came to be that exhibitions, lookbooks, product photography, lingerie, and powder tins were created in the ghetto.
▪ Paweł Michna will delve into how, beneath this visual and material facade, systems of violence and death were concealed.
