Rockin' For Russkull's Comics and Collectibles

Rockin' for Russkull's Comics and Collectibles, 45 East Ave. Lockport, NY. December 6th, Live Music featuring The Hello Molly Duo and The Forever Green Trio, Music starts at 1pm. Joe Tell (Forever Green) is an avid comic book collector and supporter of the WNY comic book community. This musical idea was suggested by Joe Tell and Maria Militello in order to help Russell and his comic book store.
*My name is Russell Scrufari and I am the owner of Russkull's Comics and Collectibles, 45 East Avenue Lockport. In February 2023 I had a tumor removed at Roswell Park and was diagnosed with lung cancer. Thank God they caught it early; it was contained and they got it out. I have been a comic book collector for over 40 years and was devastated when my favorite comic book store Pulp 716 was closing the end of October 2023. It was always my dream to open my own comic book store so I looked into leasing the building that Pulp 716 had used. I started leasing the property January 1, 2024 and March 31, 2024 was the grand opening of Russkull's Comics and Collectibles. So many customers commented they were so glad that I reopened as a comic book store. It has been great interacting with customers who shared my passion for comic books. The store also participated in the Easter Trail down Main Street in Lockprt and the Downtown Trick or Treat where we handed out candy and free comic books. Both events were huge turnouts and it was great getting involved with the community. In November 2024 Roswell Park found a new tumor in my other lung. They removed it and it was cancerous but again contained. The store lost business when it was closed while I had surgery and when we had shorter hours while I was recovering. On April 5, 2025 the store celebrated our One Year Anniversary. On April 19, 2025 we started selling bubble tea which was very popular with Pulp 716. This brought in a whole bunch of new customers who commented that they were glad we brought back the bubble tea. Then in June 2025 our distributor, Diamond Comics, went bankrupt and could not fill July orders and stopped delivering new comics by the end of June. The store lost business during the time we did not receive our new weekly comics while we switched to a new distributor. We are finally back on track with our weekly deliveries but business has been very slow. We will not be able to to stay in business without some help. I have no other resources available and am appealing to the community and comic book lovers everywhere. I really feel that Russkull's Comics and Collectibles is a vital resource being the only comic book store in Niagara County. My goal is to raise $5,000 to get caught up with bills and rent. I would also like to purchase more product to expand our bubble tea menu along with some tables and chairs to make the customers more comfortable. The store has over 250 followers on Facebook and if each one donates $10 we will be half way to our goal. We really need everyone's help to keep our small shop alive. So many customers have commented on how much they like our store. It would break my heart to lose my dream and have to close. PLEASE DON'T LET THAT HAPPEN!!
