Join us for another wonderful workshop from local artist Clare Russell (www.clarerussellart.com). Get inspired by nature and learn something new!
Acrylic paints are great fun to use and so versatile - they can be used thinly like watercolours or laid on thickly with a palette knife like oils. They come in loads of exciting colours and because they dry so quickly, it’s easy to paint over ‘mistakes’.
Using natural objects such as plants, autumn stems, flowers and colourful fruit as our inspiration, we’ll explore many different ways of using acrylics to create lively paintings.
Lots of demonstrations, guidance and tips will be provided to get you started exploring acrylics this winter. Suitable for absolute beginners. Good drawing skills are not required!
What you’ll need to bring:
-Acrylic paints (whatever you currently have)
- Mixing plate or palette
- Thick acrylic or watercolour paper (A4 is fine, A3 is better)
- Board to lean paper on, plus tape or clips to hold paper
- Paintbrushes (whatever you have)
-Water pot/jar
-Pencil/pen/crayon for rough drawing
-Old clothes/apron
Suitable for ages 18+ , and for all levels.
