On Saturday November 1st, after a six year absence, Blackheath Fireworks returns with a bang – literally – to South East London. Packed to the rafters with award-winning entertainment, huge fairground rides, food and drink, the newly invigorated festival promises to give the capital city one of its biggest and brightest Firework Weekend displays yet.
For years Blackheath Fireworks was one of London’s most celebrated firework displays. With around 30,000 people expected to flock to the Common, 2025’s organisers are keen to keep the spirit of the original but take things up a notch, with a sensational night of fun for families, friends and the surrounding communities.
A jaw-dropping firework spectacular set to music will light up London’s night sky, but that’s just the tip of the Blackheath Fireworks’ entertainment iceberg.
In the huge, covered arena BBC Radio 2’s DJ Spoony and the Heavy Beat Brass Band head the line-up on the dance floor, while over in the cavernous Big Top, immersive gameshow Famous First Words, Glastonbury favourites Massaoke, and comedians from the Big Belly Comedy Club deliver belly laughs and (questionable) live singing.
Adrenaline-inducing fairground rides will swoop and whirl screaming thrill seekers through the air, while on the ground legendary Arcadia outfit Lords of Lightning manipulate electricity itself. For those not wanting to elevate their heart rate, there are plenty of kid-friendly attractions to keep little ones entertained for hours.
Add to that mouthwatering delicacies from over 30 independent, high end festival foodie trucks, including TikTok legends Spud Bros complete with baked potato DJ booth, the Craftworx tent with local artisanal traders and some of the capital’s best local breweries gathered under one roof, plus a whopping 100 metres of bar space around the entire festival, and you’ve got a night out in London that’s unbeatable value for money.
