Join us for a special co-headline evening of bold, boundary-pushing folk from two of the most exciting acts on the scene today.
Filkin's Drift
Filkin’s Drift are a duo whose music feels like walking through a landscape of stories—woven together from English dance tunes, delicate Welsh folk songs, and the echoes of an 870-mile journey on foot across the UK.
Fiddle and guitar meet in intricate interplay, elevated by their “gorgeous close vocal harmonies” (Folk Radio UK), with compositions that are rich in nuance yet firmly grounded in tradition. Their sound, described by Songlines as “a tapestry of shared experiences”, is at once sophisticated and soulful.
Seth Bye and Chris Roberts have become beloved figures in the folk world, with regular airplay on BBC Radio 2, 3, 4, 6 Music and the World Service, and lauded live performances at FolkEast, Warwick Folk Festival, St George’s Bristol, and the Llangollen International Eisteddfod.
Described as “utterly mesmerising” (Bristol 24/7) and “hugely entertaining” (RnR), their shows are as emotionally resonant as they are technically dazzling. The pair are also at the forefront of sustainable touring in the UK and are currently expanding their vision through Filkin’s Ensemble, a 15-piece orchestral-folk project.
Expect a night of beautifully crafted music, tender storytelling, and dynamic performance from one of the UK’s most original folk acts.
Taff Rapids
Introducing Taff Rapids, Cardiff’s bluegrass sensation taking the international stage by storm. Comprising seasoned musicians Darren Eedens, Sion Russell Jones, David Grubb, and Clem Saynor, the band blends traditional bluegrass classics with captivating originals, incorporating Welsh-language songs for a unique global appeal.
In 2023, they were invited to the IBMA World of Bluegrass Showcase in Raleigh, NC, USA, the first welsh group to receive such an invitation. UK, European, and Canadian tours followed throughout 2024, and a ticket to Folk Alliance International 2025 highlights their growing demand and undeniable talent. With electrifying performances, rich harmonies, and unmatched instrumental prowess, Taff Rapids is set to become a powerhouse in bluegrass and beyond, to show the world what Welsh Bluegrass is.
