The Course
This one day practical hands-on course is designed for anyone wanting to promote a charity or business using video.
Using mobile phones and free software, you will learn professional filming and editing techniques which you can apply to your own videos.
It does not require any advance knowledge, so complete beginners have nothing to fear.
The course is also designed to help people who have tried some video production and want to raise their game to the next level. If you are working in a marketing department, or promoting your small business, and want to improve your content creation skills, this course is ideal.

The cost will include a light lunch of sandwiches and welcome coffees. Please indicate if you would like the vegetarian lunch option when booking.

NOTE: Participants will need to bring their own laptop and mobile phone (with a camera capable of taking video) to the course. We'll ask you to install some free software on your laptop before you arrive.
The Trainer
Our training courses are run by hugely experienced TV and digital producer Nick Skinner.
Since filming his first doc on location in Ethiopia in 2008, Nick has worked on a huge range of programmes including Antiques Roadshow, Watchdog and Crimewatch..
As a BBC Innovation Lead ten years later, he immersed himself in the world of digital and social media, and eventually launched his own videography production company in 2020.
He's worked for numerous blue-chip organisations, like Leonard Cheshire, Children in Wales, Action for Children, Newport City Homes and the NHS.
He's also built a range of blue chip clients for his training and teaching work.
He's a module lead at Cardiff University, where he teaches videography skills to postgraduate students. He teaches editing and interview skills at the National Film and Television School and regularly trains digital journalists at S4C. He's a qualified trainer and is a Fellow of the Institute of Higher Education. In 2025 he set up a new venture, offering training courses to charities, businesses and marketers and journalists across south Wales.
The Venue
This course will run at the four star Stradey Park Hotel on the outskirts of Llanelli in Carmarthenshire. There is free parking and the hotel can be accessed by bus from Llanelli railway station in about 25 minutes.
