9 To 5 The Musical

Join Llanelli Musical Theatre Group as we take you back to 1979 with a toe tapping, hilarious comedy musical this summer.

It tells the story of three working women who live out their fantasies of getting even with and overthrowing their company's autocratic, "sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot" vice president.

Both the movie and the musical are based on the women's activist organisation, 9to5, which was founded in 1973. The organisation's goal was to achieve equal treatment and fair pay for women in the workplace.

The musical has been nominated for Tony Awards, Drama Desk Awards, and a Grammy Award.
