Conwy is a walled market town and community in North Wales. It's known for its well-preserved medieval castle and town walls, both of which are major tourist attractions. The castle was a key part of the ‘iron ring’ of fortresses built around Snowdonia in the 13th century by Edward I to contain the Welsh. Conwy is situated on the west bank of the River Conwy.
