The Livonia Arts Commission invites you to experience the captivating watercolor and ink paintings of Mary Pachikara.
Drawing from her early life in the lush coastal region of Southern India and her background in botanical science, Mary’s work reflects a deep connection to the natural world. Her training in meticulous observation blends seamlessly with her artistic vision, resulting in pieces that capture fleeting moments of stillness and the delicate interplay of paint, paper, and water. Influenced by the contemplative spaces of early Chinese painting, Mary uses a limited palette and an economy of line to evoke quiet reflection in her figures, still lifes, and landscapes.
