On Sunday 10 August, science steps out of the lab and into the wild with the return of Greater Sydney Parklands’ FREE family event - Science in the Scrub at Western Sydney Parklands.
From elephant toothpaste eruptions to dinosaur sightings, a vintage fire truck display, Lego robots
and unforgettable hands-on science, this year’s National Science Week event will be bigger, buggier and brainier than ever.
Don’t miss Creative Science’s new ‘Mind Blowing Science’ show, see bug expert Tom Covell
investigating mini beasts at the Young Entomologist Lab, and spot crowd-favourite Ginger the life-
sized Australovenator dinosaur roaming the park – get close if you dare!
Try bush cordial at the new Aboriginal Science Village, make electricity from fruit, and learn about
natural dying, seaweed harvesting and medicinal plants; fly towards the Powerful Owl Project activity station; and enjoy beekeeping tales and tastings from The Honey Barn.
With over 30 stalls including Australian wildlife displays, a pop-up ocean lab, and sensational
scientists guaranteed to excite curious minds, Science in the Scrub is a family day out to remember with engaging experiments, play and hands-on STEM learning.
