Celebrate British Science Week 2026 at the World Museum - come along to discover more about the world around us, how our bodies work and what real life scientists at the University of Liverpool are discovering, researching and creating to shape the world we live in.
Join us for a fantastic FREE drop in event that's fun for children of all ages, (and adults too!) Try your hand at our interactive activities, follow the treasure trail and be wowed by the wonders of science. Here is a taste of what you can expect:
🌋 Lava Palaver! - What makes volcanoes erupt? Bubbles! Find out how different lavas have different kinds of bubbles and how those bubbles decide whether a volcano gently floooooows or EXPLODES!
🦠Menacing Microbes and Magnificent Medicines – Why do germs make some people sick but not others? Explore how medicines work, become a lab scientist, and see how fast you can blow the air out of your lungs!
🐦Birds Just Wanna Have Sun – Many birds travel thousands of miles every year, come find out why! Learn fun bird facts and enjoy games, a scavenger hunt, and colouring your own bird postcard.
