**Details on ride caravans from various locations around town to the event at Metroplan are coming soon.**
Get ready to pedal, Central Arkansas! Friday, May 16th, 2025, marks National Bike to Work Day, an annual event encouraging people nationwide to swap their car keys for handlebars. This day promotes cycling as a healthy, sustainable, and enjoyable way to commute—whether you're heading to the office, campus, or running errands around town. It’s a fantastic opportunity to experience the benefits of biking, reduce traffic congestion, and breathe a little easier.
This year’s event is presented in partnership with Metroplan’s Ozone Action Days, a program focused on improving air quality and promoting sustainable transportation choices. By choosing to bike, you’re not only improving your own health—you’re also helping to reduce ozone pollution and create a cleaner, greener Central Arkansas.
In the heart of Arkansas, Bicycle Advocacy of Central Arkansas (BACA) is hosting a celebratory gathering to energize participants. Join fellow cyclists and local leaders bright and early between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM in front of the Metroplan building, conveniently located across the street from Little Rock City Hall. BACA will be providing complimentary breakfast snacks to fuel your ride, along with plenty of high-fives and fun swag to commemorate the day. It’s a great chance to connect with the local cycling community and show your support for bike-friendly infrastructure and cleaner air.
Whether you're a seasoned commuter or new to cycling, there are multiple ways to participate. Ride independently by mapping out your own route, or join one of the organized bike caravans for camaraderie and guidance. Stay tuned for updates on caravan routes and meeting points.
No matter how you ride, we hope to see you out there on May 17th—celebrating cycling, sustainability, and clean air!
