Worship: How to Build Community 5: The Reconciling Community

It's World Communion Sunday, a Sunday that celebrates the diversity of those around God's table. Join us Sunday, October 5 at 10 am for in person or online worship.

There are multiple histories of deep hurts in our lives. Some that we've been the cause of, others that we've been wounded by. Some that are about a relationship with an individual person or small group of people, others that are generations deep and about large groups of people. But the work or reconcilliation offers good news. Not a hurried forgiveness, but a deep facing of the pain and a commitment to seek, accept and offer forgiveness. The more we are aware of how we have been forgiven, the stronger our ability to forgive others will be.

When we gather for communion we remember the one who served communion to someone about to betray him, someone about to deny him and many who were about to abandon him. We also remember that we are one body in Christ.
