Local Author Carole Wendt

Local author Carole Peterson Wendt will be holding a book release event at the Litchfield Library on Wednesday, October 15, from 4-5 p.m. Wendt's new memoir is Think Fast!! Lessons I Learned from Minnesota to Manhattan and Back. She will give a talk at 4:00 about the book, and she will be available afterward for conversation, as well as to sell and sign copies of the book. The event is free to attend, and there's no need to sign up.

Carole Wendt reveals surprising, funny, and and often enlightening stories from her high profile life - a journey that began on a Minnesota farm and took her to the top of the television industry. As a producer and writer, she met and worked with celebrities known throughout the world. These well known people include Tom Brokaw, Lee Marvin, Sophia Loren, Paul Newman, Robert Redford, Lucille Ball, and Barbara Walters. She found the backstage behavior of such luminaries to be often quite different from what she expected. Mostly in good ways, by the way. After retirement, she returned to her hometown where, in her local newspaper column, she shares her thoughts on just about everything - often writing about cats she has known and loved. Especially Kiki, a feral feline who dropped by as a kitten and stayed. Today, after 55 years living and working in New York City, she has returned to her small-town Minnesota roots.
