2025 Day Crew Day –Tuesday October 21
at The Meadows Golf Club
What is it all about?
This is a chance to say thank you to all the people that work behind the scenes in our industry. Often, it is the Superintendent or the Head Golf Professional that will get the invitations to attend multi club functions. This event from the start was set up for the guys that don’t get those invitations. The people cutting greens, the ones dragging hoses, the mechanics, even that retired guy that comes in and does divot repair a few days a week, this is for your whole crew.
Do I need to golf?
Absolutely not. There are a large portion of golf industry staff that do not actually golf. They just love the outdoors and the early morning hours! This is not a “golf” event, it is a social event. While there is golfing, it is by no means TYPICAL golf. There may be large groups playing together, with hecklers following them around. There is also always plenty of room around the grills and smokers to talk about the season or just tell stories. Every year there are various other games.
You may also just show up for the feast, and typically it is that. We pride ourselves on having one heck of a cookout. This is what the event is all about, breaking bread and sharing experiences with your peers.
Who pays for all of this?
The ownership of The Meadows Golf Club has donated their property to the Maine GGCSA, to host this event. This means that we pay NOTHING for golf or the use of golf carts.
All food is paid for at cost and is prepared by their staff. This generous donation is how we can keep the cost down to a minimum. We ask for sponsorship to cover the cost of most of food and gifts.
This year we are asking for $40 a person.
How can I help?
You may help by donating funds to the cookout. This year we will be doing a throwback to the Wawenock days and doing a traditional Lobster Bake and BBQ.
You may also help by donating rounds of golf or swag that we will raffle off to the guests. It can be anything, everyone loves to win a prize.
You may contact anyone on the Maine - GCSAA Board or reach out to Paul Richmond directly.
Thank you to you and your crew for a great golf season in Maine,
