Nightvisiting with Lisa lambe

From songs of love loss and emigration to the raucous tunes that connect us to our ancestors Nightvisiting invites audiences to gather around the hearth for an evening of songs and stories just like we have been doing in Ireland for hundreds of years. Internationally acclaimed Irish folk singer Lisa Lambe presents her new project Nightvisiting originally commissioned by The National Famine Museum in Strokestown County Roscommon. Since 2023 Lisa has brought the acclaimed Nightvisiting to audiences across Ireland America and the UK performing in concert halls churches old schoolhouses village halls and theatres reviving and sharing songs and stories many of which have been lost or forgotten.Lisa’s mix of folklore and stories ranging from fairies to famine ships matchmakers and runaway brides alongside traditional tunes and forgotten ballads has been transporting audiences to a forgotten Ireland wherever Nightvisiting performs.Based on her work with the National Folklore Collection and her recent M.A in Irish Folklore join Lisa alongside world class musicians for a heartfelt celebration and reimagining of the time honoured tradition of sharing songs tunes and stories by the fireside.
For 2025 and 2026 Lisa has created a brand new edition of Nightvisiting and brings us Nightvisiting:The Hauling Home. In folklore this was the joyful tradition marking the month of celebration after a wedding ending in a festive return to the bride’s home. Through heartfelt songs whirling tunes and old stories this show brings this rich custom to life creating a magical and unforgettable evening with very special guests. The Hauling Home is a celebration of community tradition and the enduring power of song.
