Jane Austen Sculpture Unveiling

Where: Alton Assembly Rooms, Alton High Street & Market Square

In 2025, Hampshire will be celebrating the 250th birthday of its famed and beloved author, Jane Austen, with special events taking place across the county throughout the year.

As part of the 250th anniversary celebrations Alton Town Council, with funding from East Hampshire District Council, will be unveiling a new sculpture of Jane. The sculpture will the main feature of a new Jane Austen themed garden outside the Assembly Rooms. Everyone is welcome.

Regency Costumed Promenade from Market Square:
10:30 am Everyone in Regency Costume welcome to join in.

Sculpture unveiling at the Assembly Rooms:
11:00 am
