Due to poor weather conditions on Sunday we had to postpone the initial meeting for Livestock Bootcamp. Our new date will be February 1st at 2pm at the Lisbon High School. If you already registered for the first mtg and still plan to attend you do not need to reregister. However, if you plan to attend the new date please let us know in the office by January 28th.
This is a 3 part series for youth and families wanting to explore an animal project in 4-H or for those families and kids that have had animals in the past and want to learn more information on getting their animals ready for the fair or exploring different species.
During the first session we are going to explore the why of taking an animal project in 4-H, we will talk about setting goals as well as what species may be right for your family and situation.
Each family that gets signed up will receive a workbook that you can use throughout the 4-H year. We will also include other resources that might be valuable during the three sessions and you can gather your own resources and add to the binder as you want.
We will look at beef, sheep, swine, meat goats, dairy goats, dairy cattle, poultry and rabbits.
The cost of the bootcamp is free, however we do ask that families please pre-register with the Extension Office by Wednesday, January 28 to allow us time to pull materials together.
Any questions do not hesitate to reach out to our office.
