Come and join us for a day retreat exploring the energies of the masculine and feminine. We all imbibe the power of these two forces within us despite our gender but often they can be out of balance, resulting in periods of retraction, depression, anxiety, feelings of frustration, anger, scatteredness, overwhelm and mood swings to mention just a few.
We will be spending the day together at a beautiful peaceful farmstead out in the Lincolnshire Wolds. This day will help you to understand on a deeper level how these energies are not in opposition but rather complementary, creating a dynamic interplay. Our day together will provide you with tools and practices to help bring equilibrium to the forces of the masculine & feminine sides of our nature. As a small group we will be guided through meditative practices including yoga, contemplation, deep relaxation, song and chant, and there will be space to share and move into the state of ‘Be’ing rather than ‘Do’ing. The yoga practices will be introducing you to the following:
The feminine ‘yin’ approach: A gentle but profound practice where we hold yogic postures for extended periods giving us time to surrender and relax deeply. This restorative practice focuses on openness, release and a letting go of ‘stuff’ that is weighing us down, helping our body to release tension and our mind to become quiet. Through this softening and quieting the body and mind is given space to heal.
The masculine ‘yang’ approach: a dynamic practice that re-establishes our connection with the earth and strengthens and revitalizing the body and mind. We will work with vinyasa (flowing movements) to stimulate blood flow and to create heat in the body which will help release energetic knots which can so often be held in the body’s muscular-skeletal system without us realising.
Lunch is provided (much of the organic ingredients used grown on site) as well as refreshments and handouts. All participants are to bring a yoga mat, cushion to sit on and a cover to help keep themselves comfortable during the guided relaxation.
The yoga practices are suitable for all abilities and the practices can be adapted to your suit you as an individual.
