Discover the joys of digital sketching using Procreate on the iPad and learn the process of creating an illustration of your own home or favourite landmark.
In this special workshop I will be showing you some of the methods I use to create my popular digital cityscape designs, helping you to create your very own digital illustration, which you will be able to print out and keep at the end of the session.
This workshop is suitable for those who are new to Procreate or those who already have a basic knowledge of the app, as I will be breaking down the process into easy-to-follow steps.
We will cover:
Digital sketching techniques and ways to work from your reference photos.
The basics of using layers and how they can aid your creative process.
Experimentation with mark making and drawing lines.
Colouring techniques and adding texture, to help bring your designs to life.
My workshop will encourage you to experiment, play and make mistakes, as this will help you learn to create and edit using this amazing app, whilst avoiding the overwhelm of trying to master too many new things.
What is Procreate?
Procreate is a digital art app for the iPad that can be used to create anything from sketches and compositional drawings through to rich digital paintings, illustrations and even animations. In fact, Procreate is like having a complete art studio at your fingertips and is perfect for when you have limited time and space to work with traditional methods, plus you can take it anywhere!
Workshop Requirements:
You must bring along you own iPad and compatible iPencil. Please note that third-party styluses may not supported by Procreate, so please check your pencil’s compatibility before the workshop.
You must ensure that you have the Procreate app installed on your iPad ready to begin your workshop session and that it successfully opens on your ipad. If you don’t have it already, Procreate can be downloaded through the Apple Store (currently costing £12.99)
Attendees are encouraged to bring along a photograph they have taken of their own home or favourite landmark (printed out or taken on their iPad), but I will also supply some reference images that can be used.
