Date: August 9th
Location: Pioneers Park, Lincoln, NE
Cost: $10 per person
Join the Herb Nerds of Nebraska for a guided herb walk led by herbalist, event coordinator, and yogi Gretchen! We’ll meander through Pioneers Park and harvest local, seasonal herbs for medicinal preparations.
✨ What to Expect:
We’ll be on the lookout for herbs like mullein, wild plum, plantain, wild lettuce, and dock seeds and maybe elderberry—though of course, it all depends on the weather and what’s in season. Nature leads the way!
🌱 Details:
Park at the Q Street lot, and we’ll walk the loop down to J and K Streets before circling back to the parking area. Expect a leisurely walk with lots of plant talk and hands-on learning.
🧰 What to Bring:
Gloves
Snips or scissors
Hat & sunscreen
Water
Collection bag or basket
🎁 Included with your ticket:
A downloadable spreadsheet of herbs we expect to find
Helpful resources for identifying additional wild medicinals
Tips from local herbalist and healers in the community
