Can’t come?? Please forward this to your neighbors!!
~~~
• How can you participate?? In two ways! You can be IN the parade, or you can sit/stand on a sidewalk along the parade route and CHEER for those that are in the parade! Invite your parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, to set up chairs along the route and watch our parade! We hope to make this a fun morning event that everyone can look forward to year after year!
• The parade participants will be on bikes (decorated bikes are encouraged!), as well as anyone who wants to drive in their decorated car!
• We are also looking for other fun parade participants such as clowns, people to throw candy, a baton twirler, or any other talents that you think would be a good parade addition!
• The route will start and end at Horizons. {See comments for route photo!} There will be both a long (purple) and short (orange) route. This way smaller kiddos on bikes or those walking can choose if they want to take a shorter route. This also allows more homeowners on different streets to see the parade.
• The parade will begin promptly at 10am, so we ask that those participating arrive no later than 9:45am in the parking lot, so we can get organized.
• The parade shouldn't last longer than 30 minutes. After the parade, we will have some tables set up outside the church for anyone wanting to bring a snack to share. We invite you to stay and hang out until 11:30am, or there will also be a group of people heading to Porter Park to play and you're welcome to join that group as well.
• IMPORTANT- in order to get safely lined up for the parade, we will have the south driveway/entrance to the parking lot blocked off for parade participants to line up. We ask that anyone who will be driving a car into the lot please enter and exit using the WEST entrance on Brummond Dr. im the comments, I have also attached a map of the intended use of the lot- the black areas show where you can park your car, blue shows where we will have bikers and walkers lining up, and the red shows where cars participating in the parade will line up. The stars indicate where the front of each line will be.
