Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (ALMA) ble i 2024 tildelt Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF) fra Australia. Organisasjonen gjør litteratur tilgjengelig for å øke leselysten og lesevnen hos barn fra Australias urfolk. I sitt lesefremmende arbeid vektlegger ILF betydningen av at barna kan gjenkjenne seg selv, sin kultur og sitt språk i bøkene de leser. Lohkh munnjien/Loga munnje/Les for meg har som mål å fremme lesing blant barn og unge i det samiske språkområdet. Prosjektet er utviklet i samarbeid med Sametinget, Stiftelsen LESE (Foreningen !les), Senter for samisk i opplæring og kommunene rundt om i landet. I 2024 ble Loga munnje tildelt Library of Congress Literacy Awards Program. Nå møtes prisvinnerne på Norsk Litteraturfestival på Lillehammer! Ben Bowen fra ILF og prosjektleder for Les for meg, Marianne Kappfjell, deler erfaringer og snakker om viktigheten av tilgjengelig litteratur og fortellinger på eget språk. Samtalen ledes av Johan Sandberg McGuinne fra Tjállegoahte - Forfattersentrum Sápmi.

In 2024, The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (ALMA) was awarded the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF) from Australia. The organization makes literature accessible to increase the desire and ability to read among children from Australia’s indigenous peoples. In its literacy promotion work, ILF emphasizes the importance of children being able to recognize themselves, their culture, and their language in the books they read. Lohkh munnjien/Loga munnje/Read for me aims to promote reading among children and young people in the Sami language area. The project is developed in collaboration with the Sami Parliament, the Association Read, the Center for Sami in Education, and municipalities around the country. In 2024, Loga munnje was awarded the Library of Congress Literacy Awards Program. Now, the award winners meet at the Norwegian Festival of Literature in Lillehammer! The conversation will be led by Johan Sandberg McGuinne.
