Come join us at Mosaic Minds Art Academy for a fun-filled 2-day portrait painting workshop. Whether you're a seasoned artist or picking up a brush for the first time, this workshop is perfect for all skill levels. A.Nichel will guide you through the process step by step, so don't worry if you're a beginner! Just bring your creativity and enthusiasm, and get ready to unleash your inner artist. What you will learn:

This is NOT a "Paint & Sip" event but this 2 Day acrylic painting workshop is beginner friendly!

Day 1 consists of laying down the blueprint of your painting. Sketching out the shapes to create the final drawing. Symmetry, line and proportion will be emphasized.

Day 2 A.Nichel will instruct students on adding the medium. Color mixing, seamless blending techniques and creating high-contrast lighting in your portraits.

Info: Day 1: Drawing the Portrait – Shapes & Structure

Learn how to break down a reference photo into simple shapes and build a proportional portrait sketch on canvas. We'll cover facial mapping, feature placement, and measuring techniques to create an accurate, expressive foundation for painting. All drawing will be done in preparation for Day 2's painting session.

Info: Day 2: Painting the Portrait – Color, Light & Expression

Begin bringing your portrait to life with acrylic paint. Learn the fundamentals of color mixing, skin tone blending, and layering techniques. We'll explore how to identify and place highlights and shadows accurately, creating depth and realism. By the end of the session, you’ll have a finished or near-complete expressive portrait.
