Conjured in pitch black darkness, ANCIENT MOON initially revealed itself as an anonymous international collective. Their 2015 debut album 'Vvultvre' consisting of a singular monolithic track, plays like a twisted church sermon in Latin set to the sonics of ritualistic black metal. This quickly lead to a deal with the long-running Iron Bonehead Productions, releasing a haunting split with PROSTERNATUR and the sophomore album entitled 'Benedictus Diabolica, Gloria Patri'.
Both of these releases saw the band elaborating on the soundscapes divulged on the debut, adding an incredible sense of depth and solidifying their trademark sound: Long, drawn-out compositions that gradually build up, shifting and morphing without excessive use of guitar layers and keeping it palpable. The frequent comparisons to the likes of Darkspace or Akhlys are certainly not unwarranted.
A rare sight indeed, ANCIENT MOON has only appeared less than a hand-full of times onstage: Twice in France at Ravenous Altar fest (2019), in Nantes (2020) and lastly at the much revered 'Howls of Winter' festival in Talinn, Estonia.

While G.N. is arguably one of Switzerland's best kept secrets, their first activity can be traced all the way back to 2007. Consisting of two members Cheib & Schiach, they started laying the groundwork for songs that would undergo a lengthy process of refinement, surpassing the ephemeral and aiming solely for excellence. Their debut live premiere coincided with the first concert hosted by Concilia Nocturna in 2014. A second show followed at Black Art Basel (2015) after which the band retreated to the shadows to complete their first studio album:
'Mantric Malediction' also marks the first ever release by reputable UK underground label Repose Records, who would also later publish works by DEATH.VOID.TERROR and LYKHAEON. Until this day, GUIGNOL NOIR's 'Mantric Malediction' remains a work of art like none other in the Swiss scene - breathing sulphur with spiritual conviction and spitting bile in delirious ecstasy. Their evocative and possessed take of black metal draws from the genre's more sinister and orthodox currents, while sounding fresh and timeless. What you hear aren't some regurgitated spells from a novice but the sound of daemonic tongues through a vessel gone mad.</concilia.nocturna>
