WWE IL: Winter Solstice Solar Lit Night Hike at Old School Forest Preserve

Join me for a night hike at Old School Forest Preserve on their solar lit trail to celebrate the winter solstice. This is a 1.3 mile trail but we will most likely do multiple loops. The amount of distance and time we take will be up to group consensus. Although there are solar lights to guide the trail, please bring a flashlight or headlamp for added illumination.

Though regular preserve hours are 6:30 am to sunset, the illuminated trails and adjacent parking lots will remain open until 9 pm daily through Sunday, March 8. Bicycles and horses are not permitted on the solar-lit trails after sunset. Dogs are allowed but must be leashed. Please be courteous and avoid stepping on groomed cross-country ski trails.

Liability Waiver: Friendly reminder that it is required to sign the e-waiver before attending your first Women Who Explore event. Please sign on an annual basis.

What to bring:

* water

* snacks (optional)

* appropriate clothing; hat, layers, sunglasses, UV protection, rain or other coat, or any other items needed depending on the weather

* shoes with good traction (that can get dirty and wet)

* camera/extra charging unit
