A Night with Leo Lorenzo: Masterclass & Party

Get ready for an exciting evening with the one and only Leo Lorenzo on Friday, August 8 at The Ballroom House in Lexington, KY! The night begins with a dynamic 1-hour West Coast Swing workshop from 7:00–8:00 PM, followed by a 30-minute Bachata session from 8:00–8:30 PM. The full workshop is just $45 per person, and ballroom dance instructors attend at no cost—we encourage you to bring your students for a fun and inspiring night of training. After the lessons, stick around for a lively social dance party from 8:30–10:30 PM, where you'll share the floor with Leo Lorenzo himself. Music will be provided by DJ and videographer David Fennig, presented by Dancing Matters. This is a LexGoKY signature event in collaboration with The Ballroom House, open to dancers from all studios. Come for the training, stay for the celebration, and enjoy an unforgettable night with the Lexington dance community!

ABOUT LEO:

Léo was immersed in music and movement from an early age, beginning with percussion and gymnastics—disciplines that sharpened his rhythmic sensitivity and spatial awareness. He later taught himself to play the drums, guitar, and piano before finding his true calling in dance.

His journey began with West Coast Swing, a style that captivated him thanks to the influence of his first instructors, Sébastien Cadet and Blandine Iche. Through dedicated work on technique and teaching, Léo’s passion evolved into a professional path fueled by his desire to share the joy of dance with others.

Léo quickly rose through the competitive ranks, participating in numerous Jack and Jill (improvisation) competitions. In just three years, he reached the prestigious All Star category. He holds four World Championship titles: Novice (2016), Intermediate and ProAm (2017), and Advanced (2022), all earned in Los Angeles. That same year, he placed second at the European Championships in Budapest in the All Star division. In January 2024, he entered the highest competitive level: Champion.

Seeking broader inspiration, Léo expanded his repertoire to include Brazilian Zouk, Contemporary, Salsa, and Bachata—styles he now teaches alongside West Coast Swing. He continues to train with top WCS professionals such as Maxime Zzaoui, Robert Royston, Jordan Frisbee, Benji Schwimmer, and Olivier Massart, while also drawing insight from artists like Fabrice Boh Suzan.

Today, Léo shares his passion with a vibrant international dance community and regularly collaborates with renowned artists—including Jennifer Grey and Matt Simons.
