Who has influenced her practice?
Amanda completed Sadhguru’s Inner Engineering program in January of 2021 and has been looking to him as a teacher ever since. She then completed Primordial Sound Meditation Teacher training from Deepak Chopra in 2022. She moved on to complete Deepak’s 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher Trainingin 2024, despite having a prior 200 Hour from YogaSix completed in 2021.
In 2021 Amanda joined a nonprofit, earned her trauma informedcertification based on Bessel van der Kolk’s work with US Military Veterans resolving PTSD symptoms with yoga, including asana and meditataion. She stayed with the nonprofit delivering trauma-informed work until 2023.
Amanda is currently studying transcendental meditation under Marci Shimoff, who was taught by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the same yogi Deepak Chopra learned from. Amanda’s coming certifications include teaching Marci’s Happy for No Reason and Love for No Reason programs.
Amanda currently has a daily meditation practice from home and a daily infrared heated asana practice at a yoga studio in Flower Mound. Her 2 black cats, Tai and Chi, are her biggest meditation fans, who have been caught on camera sleeping in her meditation chair when she’s not personally in it.
